Overview

This Payment Policy explains how payments are processed, service fees are calculated, and payouts are made on the Paddii platform. All transactions must be conducted through Paddii's secure payment system.

1. Payment Processing

For Guests

Booking Payments

  • All payments must be made through Paddii
  • Accepted payment methods:
    • Credit/Debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Verve)
    • Bank transfers
    • Mobile money (coming soon)
  • Payments are processed securely through Flutterwave
  • Payment information is encrypted and secure

When You Pay

  • Rent & Sale Properties: Payment is required at booking
  • Event Spaces: Payment is required after host confirmation
  • Payment must be completed within 24 hours of confirmation
  • Bookings are automatically cancelled if payment fails

Payment Limits

  • Maximum online payment: ₦500,000
  • For amounts exceeding ₦500,000:
    • Contact support for assistance
    • Alternative payment arrangements available
    • Wire transfer options provided

For Hosts

Receiving Payments

  • All payments are processed through Paddii
  • Accepting off-platform payments violates our terms
  • Your bank account must be verified
  • Valid tax information may be required

Payout Timeline

  • Event Spaces: 24-48 hours after guest check-in
  • Rentals: 24-48 hours after successful viewing/move-in
  • Sales: 24-48 hours after deal completion
  • Weekends and holidays may cause delays

Payout Methods

  • Direct deposit to Nigerian bank account
  • Bank account must be in host's name
  • International transfers (coming soon)
  • Mobile money wallets (coming soon)

2. Service Fees

Guest Service Fee

  • Charged to guests on each booking
  • Typically 5-15% of booking subtotal
  • Covers:
    • Payment processing
    • 24/7 customer support
    • Platform maintenance
    • Trust and safety measures
  • Clearly displayed before booking confirmation

Host Service Fee

  • Charged to hosts on each booking
  • Typically 3-5% of booking amount
  • Automatically deducted from payout
  • Displayed in your earnings breakdown
  • Covers:
    • Secure payment processing
    • Marketing and exposure
    • Host support services
    • Platform features and tools

Fee Transparency

  • All fees are displayed before transaction
  • No hidden charges
  • Breakdown provided in confirmation email
  • Detailed in transaction history

3. Pricing and Fees

Setting Prices

  • Hosts control their own pricing
  • Prices must be in Nigerian Naira (₦)
  • Additional fees must be clearly disclosed:
    • Cleaning fees
    • Service charges
    • Security deposits
    • Extra guest fees

Dynamic Pricing

  • Optional dynamic pricing tools available
  • Adjust prices based on demand
  • Seasonal pricing supported
  • Weekend/weekday pricing variations

Discounts and Promotions

  • Hosts may offer:
    • Long-term stay discounts
    • Last-minute deals
    • Special promotions
  • Discounts are deducted from host earnings
  • Guest still pays service fee on original price

4. Cancellations and Refunds

Guest Cancellations

  • Refunds subject to host's cancellation policy
  • Service fees may be non-refundable
  • Processing time: 5-10 business days
  • Refunded to original payment method

Host Cancellations

  • Full refund to guest including all fees
  • Host may incur:
    • Cancellation fee
    • Calendar blocking
    • Account penalties
  • Repeated violations lead to suspension

Dispute Resolutions

  • Payment disputes handled through support
  • Documentation required from both parties
  • Resolution timeline: 3-5 business days
  • Final decision at Paddii's discretion

5. Payment Security

Your Security

  • Never share payment details off-platform
  • Use secure passwords
  • Enable two-factor authentication
  • Monitor account activity

6. Taxes and Compliance

Tax Responsibilities

For Hosts

  • You are responsible for reporting income
  • Paddii may issue tax forms if required
  • Consult a tax professional for guidance
  • Keep records of all transactions
  • VAT may apply to your transactions

For Guests

  • Receipts provided for all transactions
  • VAT included in displayed prices where applicable
  • Business travel receipts available

Withholding

  • We may withhold taxes if required by law
  • Notification provided if withholding applies
  • Tax documentation may be requested
  • Compliance with Nigerian tax laws

7. Currency and Conversions

Primary Currency

  • All prices in Nigerian Naira (₦)
  • Multiple currency display (coming soon)
  • Exchange rates updated daily
  • Conversion fees may apply

International Payments

  • Currently limited to Nigeria

8. Payment Holds and Reserves

When We Hold Payments

We may hold or delay payouts for:

  • Verification requirements
  • Suspicious activity
  • Guest complaints or disputes
  • Legal requirements
  • Risk management

Hold Duration

  • Typical holds: 3-14 days
  • Extended for complex cases
  • Notification provided
  • Updates every 48 hours

Reserves

  • Reserve funds may be held for:
    • New hosts (first 3 bookings)
    • High-value transactions
    • Risk mitigation
  • Reserve period: 7-30 days
  • Released after successful completion

9. Fees for Special Situations

Damage Claims

  • Guests may be charged for property damage
  • Host must provide evidence within 48 hours
  • Guest has 72 hours to respond
  • Paddii mediates disputes
  • Maximum claim: property value or ₦500,000

Late Fees

  • Late payment fees may apply for:
    • Outstanding balances
    • Chargebacks
    • Policy violations
  • Fees clearly communicated
  • 7-day grace period before assessment

Chargeback Fees

  • ₦2,500 fee for each chargeback
  • Excessive chargebacks may lead to suspension
  • Dispute resolution preferred
  • Documentation required

10. Payment Modifications

Price Changes

  • Hosts cannot change price after booking
  • Exceptions for:
    • Guest-initiated modifications
    • Mutual agreement with guest
    • Approved additional services
  • All changes must be through platform

Booking Modifications

  • Fees may apply for changes
  • Modification fees set by host
  • Must be agreed by both parties
  • Processed through platform
